May 3rd, 2024

BetVictor has expanded its longstanding affiliation with Matchroom Sport, solidifying its title sponsorship for a range of upcoming snooker, pool, and darts tournaments.

As a leading betting firm, BetVictor has collaborated with various sports and events across the Matchroom Group for many years, and it aims to further enhance this partnership in the coming months.

During the 2024/25 season, BetVictor will sponsor the World Snooker Tour’s Home Nations Series, featuring the English Open, Northern Ireland Open, Scottish Open, and Welsh Open. The celebrated BetVictor Bonus will be applicable across these events, with the leading prize winner over the four tournaments earning an extra £150,000.

Additionally, BetVictor will sponsor the renowned 2024 UK Open Pool Championship in Telford next week, which is one of the most iconic events on the World Nineball Tour calendar. BetVictor's sponsorship extends to Championship League Snooker ranking event and Championship League Snooker invitation event, promoted by Matchroom Multi-Sport.

Moreover, BetVictor will elevate its sponsorship next month to the iconic 2024 World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt, where 40 nations will compete on the big stage to win the prestigious title in the sport’s only televised Pairs event.

WST Chairman Steve Dawson said: “We have built a fantastic relationship with BetVictor over many years, and we welcome this opportunity to build on our partnership. Snooker’s viewing figures, ticket sales and digital figures have all seen significant increases this season, we are a rapidly growing sport and BetVictor recognises the chance to be part of this journey.

“We are particularly excited to continue the BetVictor Bonus which adds an intriguing storyline to the series of events. Every pound won across the Home Nations counts towards that race. Judd Trump banked the extra £150,000 last season – winning the bonus for the third time – and no doubt he will be determined to top the series rankings once again. We look forward to working with the BetVictor team on another outstanding season in 2024/25.”

Matchroom Multi Sport CEO Emily Frazer said: “We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with BetVictor, a company that shares our commitment to excellence and innovation in sports entertainment. Together, we will deliver unparalleled experiences to fans worldwide across our iconic tournaments, including our Championship League Snooker Ranking and Invitational events, as well as our prestigious UK Open Pool Championship.”

The BetVictor World Cup of Darts will take place from June 27-30 at Frankfurt’s Eissporthalle, with Wales’ Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton defending their title.

Rivals will include four-time winner England’s new-look partnership of Luke Humphries and Michael Smith, while Peter Wright and Gary Anderson team up for two-time winners Scotland and Michael van Gerwen will spearhead the Netherlands’ bid for a fifth title.

“The BetVictor World Cup of Darts is one of the highlights of the PDC calendar and an event which is eagerly anticipated by players and fans around the world,” said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter. “Expanding the event to 40 nations last year was a huge success and gives so many countries a chance to shine on the big stage.

“BetVictor have a long and rich association with the PDC and we’re delighted to welcome them back as title sponsors of the World Cup of Darts at such an exciting time for the sport.”

Sam Bowell, Head of Sponsorship for BetVictor, added: “We are delighted to continue our long-standing sponsorship of Snooker with the BetVictor Home Nations tournaments and of course the BetVictor £150,000 bonus race, which has been incredibly popular with players since its creation in 2020.

“As well as snooker, we make a return to the World Cup of Darts which is always a vibrant and unique event and we are also proud to be entering into Pool with our sponsorship of the UK Open. All three sports are ones our customers love to engage with, both by participating in and watching across the globe, and with our recently released Lucky Dip product, customers will be able to enjoy an innovative new way to bet on these events and much more!”
