Sponsored by Iwan Simonis since 2019, the Dutch 3-cushion Champion who is considered as a Legend in her sport will now be sponsored by both the world’s leading billiard cloth and ball manufacturers.
Born in Nijkerk in 1983, Therèse Klompenhouwer discovered billiard in the café her father owned. She started really getting into it at the age of 8, using a stool to climb and hit balls. She first played Libre, and at the age of 19, she switched to 3-cushion. She was quickly selected for the National Dutch team by the KNBB, the Dutch Billiards Federation. In 2004, she won the Dutch championship, her first main title.
From there, Therèse Klompenhouwer started piling up titles, and the Legend was born. The one called “The Queen” by the public, and opponents has won 4 Grand Prix titles,16 National and 11 European championships, and has been 5 times World Champion in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
In 2016, Therèse Klompenhouwer became an Honorary member of the KNBB, and in 2019, she received the Royal Award knighted “Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau” from the Dutch government.
